1. What is SSMart for Sustainable Development Goals system?

SSMart for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a global marketplace system and end-to-end service for partners to showcase their demands, share their solutions and connect with each other to foster South-South and Triangular cooperation opportunities. It provides a systematic approach for the development of South-South cooperation partnerships through harnessing demands and solutions from partners from the South and brokering matches between them.

 

2. Who can access SSMart?

The SSMart for SDGs caters to all South-South and Triangular cooperation partners including national and local governments, regional organisations, civil society organisations, the private sector and academia.

 

3. How can SSMart users benefit?

Benefits for users sharing demands at country level:

  1. Receive support to define your demand;
  2. Get help to connect and match your demand with a development solution;
  3. Receive advisory services, including assistance in design and implementation of joint collaboration and partnerships;
  4. Ask a question via "Ask the Expert" and receive advice from SSMart's community of experts;
  5. Contribute to and benefit from online resources, news and blogs.

4. What thematic areas does SSMart cover?

SSMart for SDGs has several thematic windows based on demand of member states and partners in their efforts to achieve the SDGs. The first thematic window of SSMart focuses on community and local development. Additional SDGs-based windows will focus on No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life on Land and Partnerships for the Goals.

 

5. How can I join SSMart?

6. Once I post my solution or demand, how long will it take to be matched?

Once a demand is posted online to the SSMart for SDGs system, the SSMart Facilitator provides several solutions to a Solution Seeker who then decides who he/she wants to be matched with. The SSMart Facilitator will then work with the Solution Provider to support the sharing of expertise to the Solution Seeker.

Upon request, the SSMart Facilitator provides support to both the Solution Seeker and Solution Provider in order to kick off the match and implement the joint initiative. The matching process may potentially take up to two weeks.
